Life was an uneventful series of tasks and duties for Richard, until fate brought him together with a mysterious and captivating female, Kahlan Amnell.

Their father, George Cypher, raised the two boys after the death of his wife.

He was well liked by the townspeople, and looked up to his older brother, Michael, the First Councilor. Richard Cypher was once but a simple woodsman, an expert tracker and explorer of the trails that run through and around his home town of Hartland, located in the province known as Westland. Richard, Cara, Kahlan and Zed begin their quest to find the Stone of Tears to repair the veil between the underworld and the world of the living.

Kahlan, portrayed by Bridget Regan, serves as his protective guide and has sworn to keep him safe from all harm. When Richard, played by Craig Horner, discovers that he has powers from within, he transforms into a magical leader to stop a sinister tyrant Darken Rahl (Craig Parker). Legend of the Seeker follows the extraordinary epic tale of woodsman Richard Cypher and a beautiful and mysterious woman named Kahlan Amnell.
